Nothing like celebrating the fourth by watching "Blazing Saddles"

Date: 2002-07-08 10:41 pm (UTC)Reading this post reminded me of it, so yesterday I bought it.
Have seen it for the first time (in english, but with [english] subtitels to not miss things) and listened to Mel Brooks talking about the background (funny thing they did, seems they had a tape only, so there were no associated pictures. They therefore let the film play with Brooks' talk as 'soundtrack', but not talking about the scenes happening on screen. And the talk was only about 1 hr, so the last 30 minutes had the original sound again !?)
Had some laughs.
Next up is looking at the dubbed version(s) the german one to see if dubbing is done well (usually they do a good job) and maybe some sneek peek at the french and italian versions. I like the DVD's with their possibility to have many different soundtracks.
Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
