Sep. 2nd, 2008 07:11 pmToday I had to go to the Dentist.
I had to have the prep for the crown they are making. (which they will be putting in two weeks time) First they finished the cleaning they started last time. The woman who does this is incredibly nice and has this strangely soothing voice. Then it was time for the hilariously named Dr. Bang and her lovely assistant Lisa. "Bite on this. Open wide. Blah blah blah"
So it is a far back tooth that needed the work. They began drilling and I knew they were doing some serious work because the tooth was in need of help.
The low point came when they were drilling like mad (and my entire head was vibrating) and they began to touch on a nerve so things felt ice cold. Right about then apparently the back wall of the tooth collapsed and Creed came on the radio.
I'll show you everything With arms wide open... "oh dear...okay the back wall of that tooth has collapsed...are you okay?"
And then she breaks out this scary tool to dig at my tooth some more since we were so close to the nerve and I was feeling squirrely.
I reached a new circle of Hell that even Dante never could have imagined.
Later on they were fitting me for my temporary cast. It took forever to get that sorted just right. The girl would jam it in and then pull it out when it wasn't quite right. Oh the fun. Oh the delicious delicious fun.
The whole thing ended up taking about an hour longer than they had anticipated but I got through it. I even got to decide what sort of crown I wanted. I am going for gold because girl needs a bit of bling. (that and I grind my teeth in my sleep and gold will last longer.
