babies

In the ever entertaining saga of the extended Jenner clan I bring you this. My brother in law Paul and his partner Kat are having twin girls.
They said that Jenners don't make girls, they said it couldn't be done, but they have proved us wrong. (though there is something kind of interesting, it seems that youngest sons in the Jenner family have the ability to produce girls.)
Still. If I ever want a baby girl, I suspect I will have to buy mine off of Craigslist or wherever they sell baby girls. China? Where is the next hip country to get girls?

But back to the original point. Yay. Twin girls. My Mother in law is probably so excited that she has fainted. There is going to be a lot of pink stuff in their future.

We have mostly girls in my family so I have already done the amazing by producing a boy. I hope I get to have a girl someday though too, I'd love to have a few kids. I orginially typed "a whole bunch" and then decided to change that because that is really not true. I wanted 8 kids when I was younger. Having 1 sure changes that!

I'm going to predict that India will be the new China which is of course the new Romania.

In my family, the youngest generation is all boys but one.

I think my mom wants to have a granddaughter, but is afraid of what I'd name it, my brother had the vasectomy and my sisters are all "we're done," so it would be up to me.

"Hi mom, meet your grandaughter Nennoc Erfyl!" (Both Saint names!)

She'd kill me, of course.

Ooh, that's what they said about Nixons, Item being the first girl in something like 58 years. But the Harvey genes are strong, bwah ha ha.

[identity profile] gfrancie.livejournal.com 2008-04-17 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I thought my genes could make his genes do what I wanted.
Oh well, I got a pretty fun boy out of it. I can't complain at all.
I openly admit to wanting a crowd of children, so I am not too picky.

Did you get a ribbon for your effort? heh
I definitely want more. I didn't when I was in labor, but with some time I knew I wanted a crowd.

i know a family (friends with our family)
two boys right out of high school.
years later (while on the pill) oops! twin boys.
their two oldest boys grew up and had kids (4 i think between the 2). all boys.
then the oldest child went to russia to find a bride - after being spurned by his wife (who not only left her, but also left her kids).
his russian bride had a baby girl.
so the mom finally got a girl in a granddaughter.

don't give up hope. there is always genetic messing about you could do to get the sex you want. if you weren't catholic of course.

:)

India was hot a few years ago.
I only say this because when I was growing up there were a couple of families who adopted a lot of children from around the world. Pretty much they made Brangelina look late to the game.
First there were the Korean babies, then some from Central/South America. Then it was India and then Ethiopia/Somalia. Finally, China.
I vote Iraq.

Oh gee. heh. I think I will pass.
I hope your girls feel better soon.

i remember pat yearian saying she knew her youngest was going to be a girl, because she conceived late in her cycle (veteran of the early days of natural family planning/post rhythm method). mebbe worth a shot?

If I have another boy I will name him Drogo Tarcisius.
If I have a girl, I will name her Ciwa Pelagia.
All Saints names yo.

Damn.
Those are some fertile folk.

Hee.
Yeah but it really does come down to the guy in the end.

Liberia. When you get one there, they'll take your old white guilt and recycle it for free. Or that's what I've heard.

You would think that the rule "must have a Saint's name" would be limiting, but it's remarkably freeing.

Plus when you get confirmed you can always get crazy. Mind you I didn't get wild when I picked mine. Saint Elizabeth of Hungary has been a favorite of mine since I was a little girl.
But my name is full of Saints' names.

That is the same as my brother-in-law's family -- there has only been one girl naturally produced in something like three generations. Then there was a second born thanks to IVF, and now a third that my sister adopted.

I want a passel o' kids myself (as many as I can afford, really, but I think 4 is perfect), and I don't care what I have the most of as long as I have at least one of each! I am better with girl kids though -- I like to cook and make crafts more than I like to drive tractors around in a circle on the floor.

Ask Kristenlou about the purchase plan. While taking a walk last week she described some program she had read about where you can buy babies with quite a wide price range... not sure what would demand high prices...... frankly pretty sickening too.

Charming photos of you both in a later post.

in soviet Russia- baby has YOU!

[identity profile] gfrancie.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Sweet.
Plus I like recycling.
Should I bring my own bag?

girls: the albino rhino of many families.

Boys are a lot of fun.
You can make fart noises and entertain them for hours.

[identity profile] gfrancie.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow.
I bet girls are cheaper.
I remember being told by someone who had adopted some kids that little white baby boys are the most requested in adoption. No one really wants the girls.

Thank you for your compliment.
