My friend had a baby in May. She developed pre-eclampsia at the end of her pregnancy. They wanted her to stay in the hospital for the last 6 weeks but she declined. She pretty much had to go into the hospital every few days for tests anyway though. Every tinme she was there, they told her all the things that could wrong if she didn't stay- i.e. have a stroke, die blah blah Well one night right before she decided it was time to induce, she could not sleep and she had not been able to sleep for a few days. She went into the bathroom and the light started flickering. In her tired state, she thought- "I must be having a stroke. Why else would the lights be flickering." Then the lightbulb burned out. She didn't think it was too funny then, but she howled with laughter when she told me the story.
