When stuck in a room that also contains an authority figure or person of power, try to always visibly position yourself between them and the door. I did this years ago when I was in an 'exit interview' for being laid off in a mass execution, and the HR rep that was in the room realized that they can't get out unless they get past me....

Adds a whole new twist to who likes being in the room and why. ;)
