Glorious eating and sensations

Today we went on a field trip. We went to Red Mill Burgers. It was deeply deeply satisfying. the line is always out the door but the service is very quick so people are patient. I was craving a burger. And a shake. Specifically their truffle mint milk shake. Commence drooling now.
Mr. Jenner had a chicken club sandwich which he declared to be one of the best chicken sandwiches he has ever had the pleasure of eating. It did involve bacon. I had a cheese burger. A simple happy cheese burger. It had beef, cheese, lettuce and their mill sauce. No worries about onions or slightly pale tomatoes. And it was quality. So juicy. So delicious. I devoured it. We also had fries. One order made us happy. Their fries are fried in peanut oil which always seems to give french fries a beautiful taste and texture. You don't want to sully these babies with ketchup.
Mr. Jenner had lemonade which he also declared good.
As for the truffle mint milkshake? Oh. Sweet. Jesus. It was like having a frango. It was everything I wanted and more. Mmmmm truffle mint milkshake how I love thee.
Senor Onion was rather perturbed with us that we would not share our food with him. This is the first time he has taken an interest in what we like to eat. He looked royally pissed when I would not give him a fry or let him take a sip of my shake. Poor kiddo. He has to wait a few more months before he can have solids. Obviously he can sense what is good. *snorts* Or he just likes what other people are having.
Then we drove around Ballard.

Tonight we are having chicken pie as I had some left over chicken and a few other vegetables that needed to be put to good use.

In other food news if you are an English person living in America and need some Indian fixes for the home, or you just plain like Indian food here is a nice supply of relishes, curry sauces/pastes and pappadums. Heck the rest of their site has plenty of yum things.

In non-food related chatter I was looking for something else today and I ran across this neat thing put out by the Victoria and Albert Museum. War-time knitting patterns which you can download and print. A bit of interesting history.

My Mom sent me a link to this children's book. It is all about a pair of gay penguins who live in the Central Park Zoo who raise their own little penguin. Based on a true story and too adorable.

Alright time to go and check on the pie and relax.

Truffles and mint in ice cream? Don't the truffles make it taste a bit like fungus?

I was going to ask the same question. So truffle mint is really mushroom and mint??? I was thinking that maybe it was truffle as in chocolate truffle.
