I attempted to make the caramelle pasta on my own. It wasn't bad. I used a different filling. I had some squash and pumpkins from my garden that needed using so I made a filling of that and walnut, goat cheese and sage. It was pretty good but I think not quite stiff enough.
The look of the pasta wasn't bad (a few bleeders) but I want to keep practicing that technique.
Vegetarians would love this.
BUT the upside is my pasta dough in general has improved considerably so the class was definitely worth it. Plus Senor Onion was highly entertained by helping out and watching.
The rest of dinner involved sauteed green beans cooked in garlic and vinegar. Plus some other freshly sliced vegetables.
I did a load of Christmas shopping today. Yes it may seem early in some respects but when one is traveling during the Christmas season, one likes to have everything sorted and organized ahead of time. I don't feel like doing the nervous, "will it show up?" dance. Nearly all family members are taken care of. Just a few stray bachelor brothers/inlaw to come up with and of course something for the Great Grandparents. (I am guessing pictures of the world's most adored Grandson.) I do love point and click shopping in my pajamas. Probably one of the best things ever; especially when you have a small child. "ta-da. Done. Now let's have an impromptu dance party."
What am I doing up? I should be in bed like a reasonable person. Oh yes. Of course. Insomnia. I should go and skip off to the needle poker again. Or to get a massage. Get Mummy good and relaxed for December. Or maybe I will just get a bottle of wine. The cheapest route to relaxation. *hic* Yet I can never remember to finish my glass of wine at dinner. I am bad at this lush Mum business. Must work harder at drinking.
I think I am getting old lady hands.
Okay enough rambling. Sleep.
