so I have been outside doing my farmgirl thing. (har har har) I am helping my brother put up a new chicken fence and standing out in newly cut brush (with lots of sticky bushes) is not the best fun in the world. So my arms are red and itchy. (wants to rub a hairbrush on her arms)
Strangely enough, my siblings keep losing their pet chickens to these rogue racoons. They pull one off into the woods and don't harm the others. All is left is a trail of feathers. Rather grusome.
Yesterday was my little brother's birthday and he turned ten, and he was a happy camper. He received tons of fun presents and we did fun things. My favorite part was when we were having this picnic in the park. And there is this local crazy broad named Tiffany. She is this pre-op transsexual who wears a purse on her head (I swear to god I am not making this up) who has a house and isn't homeless. She goes to Chetzemoka park (beautiful place where people like to get marrried and have parties) and she hits up the weddings, parties and offers rocks in exchange for food. People find it quaint and give her a ton of food. She comes up to my mother and says, "wanna sell a plate?" My mother says no. She then offers my mother some shiney rocks and my mom says no again. It amused us so much that for the rest of the day, if you asked someone for something, we would say, "well I might give it to you....for some rocks."
Yes I am aware that is sick.
okay so more rehearsal...LORD ALMIGHTY IT WAS LONG. The upside is my costume makes my rack look great. I could put someone's eye out. I do believe I am the least dressed person in this show. It is sort of difficult to do this, since I am a classic female and I have an extremely awful sense of self-image. But I manage to go out there and dance, wearing hardly any clothes and not look too stupid. Fortunatly stage fright has not hit me yet. (it helps that I am not singing by myself) Oy vey.....so much to think about.
Sunday was so lovely I went to mass with my mother and then the family proceeded to hit a number of parties. First we went to a going away party for a family friend and ate our weight in crab and trifle and hung out at the beach. (always fun on a sunday) then we went to a block party and ate some more food.....Truly a fun summer.
Speaking of food. I am making Hummus from scratch, I think it should be interesting.
I have this craving for middle eastern food, so I shall make tabouli, falafal, hummus, some babaganoush this week......eat your heart out...or atleast kill some arteries in the process. YIPPEE FOR FRIED FOOD!
Thursday I am going to be donating blood. As a fundraising thing for the girl who has leukemia (look at old posts for mentions of that) and that always leaves me high as a kite. Then after that I have a show *laughs wildly)
I think I will bring a friend...that way we can race to see who can get out a pint the quickest. My best time is 4.5 minutes. Yeah...can I ever bleed.
I do believe that shall hold people for awhile.
