oh why harold?
Jan. 15th, 2003 10:07 amYesterday I had a fairly amusing day at work.
Well not amusing HAR HAR, but it was enough to keep me smiling.
I answer the telephone and this man says, "well, I don't know if I wanna talk to you, but here it goes..."
yes, well then...
I did help him considerably and he seemed quite giddy by the end.
Later on, I answered the telephone again, and I hear this scream and someone shouting, "oh fuck yeah" and then the gentleman proceeds to ask for a children's book.
People are truly a kick sometimes.
Later on, I had an encounter with a gentleman I shall refer to as, Mr. Flirtypants.
Mr. Flirtypants comes up to me, just after I had done an overhead page and he says, "well hey there, I bet you just want to say funny things on that sometimes don'tcha?" and then he winks.
I smile and ask him how I could help him....he wants to find cooking books (blah I am even boring myself with these details) and he says, "should I follow you with an umbrella, you have that kinda...powerful girl thing going on."
um...yeah...
So I show him the cookbooks, reccomend a few things and he says, "wow you know a lot about cookbooks, maybe you should cook for me sometime"
*sighs*
the thing is, he was incredibly attractive, but at the same time, the flirtiness was a bit much, since I really wanted to get back to a couple of things I was working on.
Then he kept touching my damn arm and smiling and saying "wow you are such a nice girl."
Maybe he was on E or something.
Then he asks for my number.
I politely explained that I wasn't interested and he laughed and said, maybe another time.
I should point out something to the great american public. People who work in customer service are hit on alot and sometimes it isn't such a bad thing. It boosts our ego abit. Most of the time though, it is a bit...much.
So don't, just don't.
Ooooo last night I watched more "Spaced" God I love that show. I keep going about and doin' my impressions of 'Marsha'.
"hello brian"
okay so that is only funny to me.
( move along )
