I bought the Clorox bleach pen and so far I am impressed. I went to town on some of the grouting in the shower and everything is looking much better. I also used it on some whites. They are looking better too.
Miss Suzy Homemaker approves.
Today I found a copy of
The Loved One for a mere twenty five cents. Yes things like that can happen in real life. (It helps it was used bookshop)
I have read bits of this book and I saw the movie years ago. The movie is absolutely twisted. It has Liberace in it. Need I say more?
It is inspired by Waugh's brief visit to Hollywood and the impression it left upon him. It wasn't exactly a "wish you were here" kind of visit. Evelyn Waugh was a nasty little beast of a man but he was very witty so we forgive a lot. Many think he captured the essence of Hollywood and its culture (I use the term gently) so well it bordered on creepy.
I think this will be a good bus read. It will cause me to laugh out loud causing my fellow riders to think, "oh the poor girl, she can't afford medication."
I am observing the 9/11 hearings. Today's episode features Attorney General John "forget your civil rights" Ashcroft. The hilarity ensues when he makes 'clever' comments about Janet Reno and attempts to evade questions about being unprepared. A highlight in today's show was his suggestion for additional measures he would like to add to the patriot act. Many of which sound reasonable at first but upon reflection one could see how they would be abused and cause greater grief for an individual who may be innocent but would be shit out of luck.
Keep in mind Mr. Ashcroft once lost an election to a dead man.
True story.
Maybe tonight will be Matzo Ball soup night. I have some stock and some schmaltz just aching to be used.
