Ah morning....I was having strange dreams about sleeping in and missing dinners and people becoming overly religious.
Yesterday my sister and I had to save our brother Mike from the Jesus freaks.
Mike was looking in the commercial building and he was looking at some display (out of politeness) that asked, "how sure are you that you will go to heaven."
All of a sudden he is being pulled to discuss scripture. I told Kit to grab Mike. She was too afraid of them. I had to rush in and say, "comeonmikewegottago" and he and I ran off.
It is kind of hilarious that he has to have his two older sisters save him from the missionaries. Sure he is taller than both of us but he is only twelve.
It gave us a good laugh all afternoon.

Today I work. *grumbles and whines*

I spent a rather festive day in the Children's department organizing picture books. It was big fun.
I ran across a few books that I adored with all my heart as a child.

Maybelle the Cable Car. An amazing story by Virginia Lee Burton (Mike Mulligan fame) about the history of San Francisco, the cale cars and the importance of history and its place. My Father gave me a copy of this book when I was a child and I liked it when he would read it to me. He really liked the book a lot...of course I didn't find out until later it had partly to do with him being from there. We didn't know that at the time. Another hilarious moment in the Gibson family history. Despite the oddity of it all I love the book.

I also ran across a Babette Cole book I had not noticed before. Lady Lupin's Book of Etiquette Some aristocratic dogs give some sound advice on how to be civilized that all people ought to pay attention to. Important things like saying please and thank you, sending notes of appreciation and general decorum. The illustrations are hilarious and the ending is a bit of a scream.
Her books tend to have a snarky approach. Something good for children.

Finally another favorite book from my childhood. Paper Bag Princess a great book for boys and girls alike. It promotes all sorts of healthy traits in a human being. Plus it has a dragon and a kick-ass girl who makes do in the more creative way.

I have acquired a catering gig. It won't be until next year but it gives me much planning time. A co-worker of mine is getting married and she would like to me handle the food. Oh the delightful fun. I am tempted to go with an Asian theme. This will give me a chance to really learn how to make sushi rolls with the best of them.

...

I have found that in the kids section my problems with small people are few. I am incredibly relaxed about their behavior because...they are children. I wouldn't mind taking a few parents to task for their behavior, lack of attention and general rudeness. It is a real shame sometimes.

....
My rose bush is doing well. It had some proper sun today and I will be moving the bush to a larger pot and maybe add another plant to the mix.
This is quite a bit of fun.

awwww

Tonight I introduced Mr. Jenner to Only You. This is one of my favorite Romantic comedies. It was a movie made specifically for me. I am convinced of it.
It has most of my favorite things.
Love, Italy, Robert Downey Jr. and shoes. What is not to love? After I first saw this film I felt I had to marry a shoe buyer.
It didn't do especially well when it came out but I think I single-handedly keep it alive by watching it over and over again.
SHOES!
