It has been reported that the death toll of the American-led coalition has hit over 1,000 this week.

Even more tragic is the fact that there are no exact numbers for how many Iraqis have been killed in this useless war.

All those poor families.

.....

On a much happier note I would like to wish my baby brother Mike a very very Happy Birthday.
Today I am taking him and the siblings to see Anchorman. We will then go to every bar and maybe fire a few rounds at pigeons.
Okay maybe not since he is just thirteen.

And now a list of mostly horrible things that occured the year I was born, thankfully I was born on the last day of the year so I saved it from being absolutely awful. )

We had a big ol' Time watching "Anchorman".
I brought the siblings back to the apartment and did what I do with any person who enters my house I fed them.
A lot.

The fridge is empty.

woo.

And because I felt like I needed to do something besides three other people (two of which I am convinced have tapeworms) I um went and made some bread pudding with bananas. I figured what the heck. Let's use up some bread and eggs.
My sister made fun of me and said, "Is this something you do just to keep your hands busy?"

Tonight I introduced Mr. Mike to Vietnamese cuisine. He had been rather curious about it and since my family lives in the sticks they don't have any Vietnamese restaurants.
Sure in Port Townsend there are Tapas bars, Thai, Mexican, Chinese, Italian, vegetarian, Northwest Pan-Asian fusion (fish, stir-fry meets a good sauce) and Indian food. But no Vietnamese.

I think he was rather impressed and will probably acquire a cookbook or two and begin his quest. When Mike studies something he really will learn every aspect of the subject.

I completely wowed the kid with the autographed copy of the Bill Clinton book. He was ecstatic. I think he enjoyed his 13th birthday.

After dinner I met up with [livejournal.com profile] cusackam, [livejournal.com profile] noogienubs and [livejournal.com profile] athena. Mr. Jenner and I had some low-priced software for [livejournal.com profile] cusackam. The three of them are some of the rare and few that have met the entire Gibson clan all at once. I think [livejournal.com profile] noogienubs put it best, "They are like the entire Von Trapp family."
Yes it seems we all look a like and we are a funny bunch.
We do two shows a night at the Palace and we promise laughs, cheap drinks and our opening act is the comedian/drummer Buddy Rich.
