short...no really.
Aug. 14th, 2004 10:33 pmOkay, a brief bit of this and that.
-Opening ceremony to the Olympics were super nifty. Though Björk was weird. I have tried for many years to get what the big deal is about her but it is hard to respect a woman who wears a swan. Also when she sing she sounds like she is deaf. It is like Helen Keller is singing.
-Morning sex is a good thing.
-Watching the Women's US soccer team this morning was kick-ass. It was like ballet. (not too sound all "Philadelphia Story" and say, 'South Bend...it sounds like dancing.')
-Mens Gymnastics is hot.
-People need to realize that if they put their stuff away it will make it easier for other people to find things later on in bookstores. But then I am asking people to think about others.
-There was a guy who came in for a second interview. He was scouted out by every employee today. I was the first person to ever deal with him when he got an application. He seems to be cute, single and straight. Immediately all the girls told the managers to hire him just on looks alone. Most of the guys who work here are 'The gay'. The rest of the guys are married or have girlfriends. For the sake of a few girls we need more attractive straight guys...and not the emo boys we sometimes have around. Like my co-worker Dave O says, "we need some guys who aren't wussy and can talk sports and maybe own some tools." Of course Dave O is a self-professed wussy guy with a wife. But he can talk baseball.
-I pretty much made up my own schedule today. I think they scheduled me for the possibility of a busy day. It really wasn't. I made beautiful displays which sold like heroin in Harlem and wandered around chatting with people. It was much like a cocktail party. I should have kept a drink in my hand. I had to use a bic pen as a prop instead.
-Bitchy Belgian women should stay home.
-Nothing better then drinking an aperitif, eating beautifully prepared French Food and watching a bitchy Belgian woman emote like some sort of cartoon.
-I have a new top. I don't know how I feel about it yet but my co-workers like it and say it is "very cute!" I need to think about it.
-"Garden State" is very sweet. It has Natalie Portman being less annoying then usual. It makes me think of her in "Beautiful Girls" (I am not the first person to say that) The film does remind me of "The Graduate". Nifty soundtrack.
More later when I am not feeling so congested.
