Oh what a time.
Yesterday we climbed the towers of Notre Dame and saw great sights. Again I my backside felt that. It was really beautiful up there and we got to see one of the big bells they ring at various holidays. We then took the metro to this trim shop. It was so brightly colored and incredibly over-whelming and not to mention fairly expensive. Still...amazing place. Mr. Jenner said it made him want to make a necklace or something. We then went to Rue Cler and bought things for a picnic. We acquired morbier cheese and it was stinky and gorgeous. We also bought eggs for J. and L. (everyone needs eggs) and we bought a long sandwich filled with ham, cheese and other pretty things. We found some pretty strawberries, a bottle of Rosé wine and two of the prettiest tarts in the world (no their names weren't Sally and June so no jokes please) I picked a raspberry one and Mr. Jenner picked a chocolate one that also had tiny little chocolate bars on top. It was ridiculous.
We stopped at the flat to grab a knife and the rest of the bread and another cheese and set off for the Luxembourg Gardens. We sat around watching people and eating incredible food. We polished off the bottle of wine with ease. We made moaning noises when eating the cheese and the tarts. We fed most of the bread to the pigeons who seemed fairly grateful to receive fancy-pancy bread.
Some horrid French Teenagers were throwing objects at the pigeons trying to hurt them.
I plead my case that even though they are ugly things at times they had no right to hurt them.
They agreed they wouldn't hurt them.

Just as we finished our desserts it began to rain so we ran off toward the apartment. We stopped off to buy some sweets (Mr. Jenner spoils me) and the Herald Tribune.

We came home had some tea and read the paper. I admit we were a little....relaxed because of the wine and took a nap for an hour.

I think everyone in the US would be in a better mood if they could polish off a bottle of wine everyday and then take a nap in the afternoon.
*snorts*

We woke up, got ourselves in order and went to the Musee d'orsay and saw amazing paintings of the impressionist period. I think Mr. Jenner was wowed.
I saw this really interesting painting by Jean-Francois Millet that I think my Mother would be taken with because of the attention to detail.
I will have to talk more about that when I get home.

Mr. Jenner also was introduced to Art-Nouveau. We looked at the area devoted to decorative arts and apparently he had never knew what it had meant and what sort of things had been done. He is deeply interested now.

After all that culture (which I will elaborate on later I promise) we attempted to take a metro to dinner. First since we had time we stopped at one place and had a glass of wine and watched the rain.
Then we left. Oh the movement we made.
HAR!
We go to make our connection and they have closed that line for the evening and then we hop onto another train to see if we can somehow sorta make it to dinner just a little late.
The train did not move forever and a day.
Somehow...we made it to the restaurant nearly an hour later and the kind kind people actually sat us.
Oh what a meal it was.
Oysters, a nice big bottle of real champagne, a very funny waiter who said he didn't speak English. Only American.
What a flirt.

So many things!

Today we went to the Louvre and all of the unpleasant stereotypes about any nationality becomes true when going to view the Mona Lisa. (which was really amazing by the way) The Americans were loud, the Japanese were shoving everyone and had tiny cameras and took pictures of everything, the Italians kept grabbing my ass and the French looked annoyed.
Despite that I loved it every moment of it.

We went to Ile-St-Louis and ate some incredible ice cream and I found gifts for people.

We also walked around Montmartre and viewed the sex shops the way people view New England villages.
They were quaint. We climbed to the top and viewed the city.

We are now going to dinner and I plan on eating steak!
Mmmmm Meat!
Mmmmm Wine!

Tomorrow flea markets and cemeteries.
