Last night Mr. Jenner and I went out with friends for drinks and dinner. Goodness I had a silly time drinking frou-frou cocktails and talking to "Nancy" (this is what this one man is called when he has had a few) and eating very very tiny hamburgers. He was telling me about his plans for his birthday. he is going to have a crab theme and it was going to be called, "hey I'm 39 let's not be crabby". I find it quite entertaining. He is a wonderful cook and I am going to have him make chocolate party favors for my wedding. I also need to get his recipe for stuffed mushrooms, because they are so delicious.
After that Mr. Jenner and I took the bus home. (This is one of the many nice things about living where we do now) It took just a few minutes and we could sit there a little pie-eyed on the bus.

Today I work and make soup for dinner. I am now working my way through "Middlemarch" I am doing my best to fill the various shameful gaps in my reading history. So far it is a cracking read as they say.
(who they is? I can't really say)

I get to do a book of the week in March and I have it already picked out. It will be so damn terrific. Smashing book that reminds me of screwball comedy films from the 30's and Kauffman and Hart plays.
Bandbox is one of the funnest novels I read last year and I think I can convince several members of the Great American public to read it. I have found it appeals to both men and women so it isn't some sort of awful chick-lit book and it is very smart and snappy. Plus the ending is hee-larious.

I think I should finish my tea, have some breakfast, read the paper and then go through my clothes.

oh go on

Work was quiet and I futzed about some more by organizing things for someone and that was alright. I drank tea and made a few cruel remarks so it was a typical day at work.
Tonight we are having chicken matza-ball soup and see if we can stay awake until ten again. We live the high life as you can see.

Every so often I like to sing the praises of someone I know.
Today I offer you this.

[livejournal.com profile] photosexual is one of my favorite people. My Mother thinks he is just grand and absolutely hilarious (you know if my Mom likes you, you are an interesting person) He comes into where I work now and then and is very well-behaved, very funny and I always try and give him a bit of a discount because he is a po' starvin' artist. I kid you not. I have to show you some candids he did recently here and here. He is also recently received an honorable mention for one of his photographs for a contest. Right now that print is at a club (Neumo's) in Seattle along with others (part of a thing for Rockrgirl magazine's 10th anniversary) so how cool is that?

I am thinking that I need a print of the first candid shot of the girl kneeling and attending to her hair. Not only does she have a very pretty backside but I think it would be a great piece to have in the bathroom off of the master bedroom. Those particular shots make me think of Talouse Lautrec and cabaret scenes. [livejournal.com profile] photosexual has a real knack for photographing women incredibly well and whether they have hardly any clothes on or a performer doing her thing; he has a real talent for capturing something very powerful and equally sensitive. I told him he needs to do a show in my basement that has kind of a basement pervert theme. old stacks of bad porn magazines, an ugly couch and his fine work. What do you think?

People should really buy his work. It is dandy!

....

Today I received the contract for the wedding reception place. Blech... It isn't too much money but it is still some money. (I think this is where my tax refund is going this year)
