Dr. Rice pimps it in South America. It seems as if Dr. Rice is promoting trickle down economics as well to the people of South America and many aren't feeling the excitement. "In time, the blessings of democracy come to everyone who keeps the faith with the principles of democracy," she said. The comments kind of remind me of sermons by certain types who say, "If you believe and do what I say then you too can make money and be happy." I think that people really don't want to wait anymore. Many live in extreme poverty and so far they really haven't reaped the benefits of democracy and they aren't even really experiencing democracy at all. But then the U.S. does have a history of installing puppet leaders when the people choose their own leaders and they don't happen to be to the US's liking. (Can I get a shout-out for Pinochet anyone?) Dr. Rice is also being vague about Brazil's chances of making it onto the security council of the UN and frankly I suspect that the Bush Admin. would encourage stringing Brazil along and saying, "We are old friends, we will put in a good word for you." and then going for an Asian country at the last minute. I do think more Asian countries have better chances of acquiring a seat on the security council.

...

Look at what they are finding in Borneo. It is a regular Darwin's festival over there.

I feel like I don't have enough time and I have so much to take care of before we go to England. Work work work. Planning, planning, planning. Lists, lists, lists. I need some chocolate and I need to think of something to make for dessert this week.

You bitches sure post a lot.

I went to work, I nearly killed a co-worker (this person is a lot like Colin Hunt for you "Fast Show" fans) and finally I went to the manager and said, "If I have to work with this person again I am not responsible for my actions." I don't get how a bi-polar freak who hates kids yet reads kids books, collects toys and essentially has the mental capacity of a twelve year old has the nerve to try and treat me like I am freaking Corky from "Life Goes On". I am not putting up with it.
The managers were sympathetic and I suspect they won't be putting me near that person again. For Gennie might get violent.

I had a terrific crepe for lunch along with some orangina. The crepe had prosciutto, emmenthaler cheese, bechamel, spinach and a bit of butter. Satisfying if I do say so myself. There is this small place about a block from my work which serves crepes, gelato, coffee and coke and orangina in a bottle. It isn't exactly a stand but is essentially out-doors so on a nice day you can sit at a table on the sidewalk, have a crepe and something nice to drink. I may have to go back and try their other crepes.

As for wedding related irritations, I went to Kinkos today to get a vague idea of the costs to print something up and it is incredibly reasonable. My Mother Mrs. Chazbot talked to one caterer who is really excited to come up with some menus. She was keen on adding English influences to the food. I also heard back from another caterer who I might have do the cake at the very least because their prices are good and I also liked their menus.
I promise sausage rolls at my wedding folks. sausage rolls!
It is still giving me plenty of anxiety but I am steaming ahead out of pure stubbornness.
Now to schedule the pre-cana stuff at my home-town parish and get some more things set in stone.

I made chicken matza-ball soup for dinner and we watched Dr. Who. It was a good end to the day. We even listened to I'm Sorry I haven't a Clue on BBC radio. Because we are old.
