gfrancie: (gibson girl)
Sometimes I am irritated with myself for caring so much about minute details. Especially when it comes to work. I really worked hard for two weeks to fix things and reorganize a lot of back-stock. It wasn't even nine in the morning and the ass-face taking over is screwing things up. I told him if he undid my good work that I would hunt him down and make sure he become an involuntary castrati. A co-worker said, "you know how you got Judah fired? Could you do that with this guy?" I said that would be like trying to remove Karl Rove from his job. Damn near impossible. But all is not lost. It seems the person taking over his old position has been looking through things and he left things an absolute mess. I am coming in tomorrow to help fix that. I told her that we should just burn everything to the ground and start over. The upside to all of this is they made a mistake and wanted me to work on Thursday and they wanted me to come in tomorrow and work a long day. I had them by the balls and said, "I will only come in if you make sure I don't work Thursday and give me a vacation day instead."
Miss Gennie had her wish granted. Machiavelli eat your heart out.
I shouldn't care at all if where I work completely falls apart. But I think I care if it affects me and makes my life difficult. I also worked with some new girl today who was supposedly trained -by the above mentioned ass-face. It was a long day.

But it isn't all incompetence and ennui.

wedding blah blah )

The bridesmaid tea went well yesterday. I even managed to come up with some amazing and clever things for a vegan to have at the tea. I made sure she would have to eat a lot. She even had soy milk in a cow creamer. Let the irony of that sit with you for awhile.
The final menu was:
homemade angel food cake
freshly made whipped cream
Macerated strawberries (done with sugar and a sparkling Rosé)
sliced nectarines and whole strawberries
cucumber sandwiches (I mixed cream cheese with cumin and oregano for a bit of extra flavor)
crumpets (I found some that had no dairy products in it whatsoever so our vegan could eat them)
blueberry spice jam made by my Mother a couple of weeks ago. (no gelatin so again a vegetarian/vegan friendly item)
rye crisps crackers and toffuti (a faux version of cream cheese)
jaffa cakes
vegan chocolate oatmeal cookies
Lots of tea.
wouldn't you know it I forgot to take pictures of the food.

Hilarious gossip was had, horror stories of dorm-mates and presents. I handed out tiny samples of Jo Malone perfume and bath products. Yes at Chez Angloamerica fabulous door prizes are had. Then my Mother and my brother Michel showed up and more salacious gossip and cucumber sandwiches were had. They also did their best to embarrass the hell out of me with stories of my youth. God bless'em.
The girls have their dresses sorted out and we discussed hair a bit. They will look glamorous.
gfrancie: (dolce vita)
Sometimes I am a vicious mean girl. I told a co-worker that there were a couple of female co-workers I couldn't stand and there was a faint urge within me to cut off a chunk of their hair and keep it as a trophy. We had a good sick laugh over that. That and highly inappropriate jokes about the potato famine.

We watched some Eddie Izzard tonight. He is just too sexually appealing sometimes. The kink factor in the English is too intoxicating sometimes.
