grumpy expectations

So far today my mood is taking a bit of a minor kicking. I went to the post-office this morning so that I might buy some stamps. There were a huge line and the machines from which a person might buy stamps were out of order. It also appeared that there were only three people helping the crowds. I did not feel like waiting in line for several years. (there seemed to be a lot of people who weren't quite prepared so their transactions were taking some time) Then I went to Kinkos because I wanted to have something printed up a specific way. I am convinced that Kinkos does not want my business. Every single time I have ever ventured in one to ask a simple question or to get help such tasks prove to be too mighty for the people working there. No one is around at the help desk. I found someone wandering about and I tried to ask them a question and they said, "oh sorry, just go to the help desk. Someone should be there." I pointed out that no one was there and he said, "oh..." and looked as if I had asked him to take a difficult math exam. He then wandered off. Didn't say anything. Just walked away.
I gave up.
I bought some cheese and then came home.
Fuck it.

I am working on a nice headache. I am tempted to spend the day in bed.
But I won't.

I am beginning to make a few home-made ornaments. I have some nice decorations up and I am inspired by some links that la_sherazade posted regarding old-fashioned Christmas decorations and ornaments. I am searching for all kinds of interesting ideas. I also need to find a tree-topper.
Time to bust out the ribbon and trim and see what I can create.

questions I ponder

Could I truly get away with asking that people dress up in costume and/or formal clothes for my birthday/New Years Eve?
