This is rather interesting.
And this is neat to look at.
Andrew's friends all wandered home. Some found it very difficult to leave. (It was raining and blowing very hard and there were several squalls) One friend was going to wander off, but then I offered him and another friend tea and so they sat by the fire all toasty. We had a nice chat about places (someone may be moving to Sweden) and people. (certain people's girlfriends) Then Mr. Jenner's Mother came back from her walk and offered homemade soup and bread. "Oh that sounds lovely". So people stayed for soup and bread and fruit and cake -all by the warm fire. I think some left four or so hours later than they had intended. Plenty of goodbyes and "must get together again." I have not had my cheeks kissed so much since my wedding. Since when did the English become so European???
Yesterday people lazed about, read the paper and then for dinner we had roast beef, yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, vegetables and lemon meringue pie for dessert. (there was a chicken liver salad for a starter -which was quite delicious but really the main part of dinner was more exciting)
There was then further lazing about. (Not to mention several games of Uno with the amusing five year old)
Today several gallons of tea were consumed, there was a trip to the pub to eat big food and tonight I think there will be cold beef and television.
Tomorrow we begin the long journey home.
P.S. I forgot to mention, my child somehow...somehow slept for five and a half hours before waking up. I don't expect this to be a pattern but holy christ that was different. It was the largest amount of time I have slept since...well since the day before he was born. I woke up all of a sudden with a start and I immediately checked him. "oh holy crap...thank goodness he is still alive." Fed him, changed him, went back to sleep for two more hours. But I really needed that five hours. It will hold me for a month. At least.
