I conquered much.
Jan. 5th, 2007 05:18 pmConsumer reports released a report saying "Oh sweet jesus nearly all infant car seats are super super dangerous and oh my gosh I bet you picked the wrong one."
I go and look at the list of scary dangerous car seats and it turns out I bought one of the two that were considered safe and sexy.
Fear my researching/shopping skills. *does the superiority dance*

Today I held Alex in front of a mirror and he had a good look at himself and me and he proceeded to smile and then crack up with laughter. It is nice to know that I can easily entertain him. Before we left England we found he was easily amused by his Uncles. He would look at them and start giggling.

Last night we started watching Jam and Jerusalem It has some of my favorite actors and is rather entertaining and soothing after a long day with a short guy named Al.
We have downloaded a bunch of good stuff to keep us entertained during the dark winter months.
I looked through my fancy Cary Grant box set and it turns out it comes with some kicky vintage-style movie postcards. I think I may frame them and put them up in the bathroom or something. Maybe the kitchen even.
Finally I managed to tidy up just a touch. I put away the clean dishes, put dirty ones in the dishwasher, tidied up a few counters, hung the last of the Christmas cards, folded and put away clean laundry, made the bed and threw away some junk mail. I even fluffed the pillows on the sofa.
I feel rather accomplished.
This is my second day on my own and I am slowly trying to get the hang of doing anything while holding onto an infant who refuses to sleep and has to be kept upright a lot of the time. Yesterday I took him on a long walk in his stroller. It helped him sleep and it forced me to get some exercise.
I should make some soup or something for dinner. Maybe a pumpkin ginger soup with stilton?
