Yesterday morning I made muffins. I figured that it might be a nice offering to our guests to have warm banana walnut muffins and some marmalade. They demolished half of the batch so I think they liked them.
I was filled with a strange level of energy yesterday so I was able to accomplish quite a few things despite having an irritated small person in my company. I grilled sausages and bell peppers for dinner and served that with buttery polenta and lots of parmesan cheese. We watched The Fountain which was definitely interesting. It was rather beautiful to look at but the non-linear storyline was almost invisible. It was a movie with some loose ideas and fragments but not a lot of weight. I do admire the director for attempting such a thing.

This morning I made strawberry sorbet. The recipe came from the French Laundry Cookbook. I was inspired by a blog where the person is attempting to cook all the dishes from the book. The sorbet is part of a larger dessert that the blogger made. I was kind of curious about it so I looked in the book and it didn't require anything rare or complicated and the process to make the sorbet takes hardly any time. (Mind you it does require an ice cream maker and possibly a food processor -though a blender works too)
I will post some pictures later on. I think it will taste good with the cake tonight.
