OMGBECKY let's go shopping!!!!
Jun. 30th, 2007 04:29 pmMy sister is here at the moment.
After the weekly grocery shop, she and I went shopping. She needed some clothes for camp and I needed to get some things for Senor Onion and some things for myself. (panties if you really want to know)
Before we faced sales and other retail-based irritations we went to Monorail Espresso and had burnt cream lattes.
photosexual had mentioned how sexy and amazing this drink is. I am not a coffee drinker anymore but every so often I like to give in to a random craving. Well holy heck this is one satisfying beverage. It made me think a little bit of marshmallows. But better. We bought a regular hot version and an iced version. Both delicious.
photosexual has cited that during the week pretty girls usually work there and they make him feel all funny in the pants. We were served by an older gentleman and what I really liked was the genuinely warm and friendly service. Imagine a hipster barista (with all the irony and ennui) and then imagine the opposite of that. "hey how ya doin', gorgeous day isn't it, you are gonna love this coffee" It wasn't faux retail greeting. It was quite awesome.
I have passed by this place a million and one times and never purchased anything. I must return.

We went shopping. I helped my sister find a load of clothes (all on sale thankyouverymuch) and I found some cute panties. One pair has cherries and strawberries on them. I also found a shirt, though that isn't anything special. It is something I can wear around the house in the Summer and I don't mind having small people spit up on it. I looked for some trousers but nothing looked appealing or it wasn't in my size. Thankfully that didn't make me feel too bad about myself. There are some days when I try on clothes and I just want to cry and buy a muu-muu and call it a day.
Senor Onion acquired some things as he is growing like a weed. There was a side trip to Sephora to look at stuff. I was investigating the lipsticks by NARS. Then we went to the market because I had to buy chicken and herbs. We stopped at Chocolate Box which has just opened. It is a great place. Tons o' different kinds of chocolate products, gelato and desserts. It is oh so beautiful. I will have to investigate further.
The rest of the day has been lazy and quiet.
