busy town

Today Nurit and cusackam came over with cusackam's boys so I got to play with a chunk of a baby and help provide entertainment for a four year old. It turns out I have some things to keep a four year old mildly amused for a couple of hours. Be impressed. It as amusing to watch two babies observe one another. I think Alex was more interested in the ladies than some boy. Nurit is one of his new favorite people. I also fed people samples of the ice cream and sorbets I have made. I should have people over soon for an ice cream eating party. People can see who can end up with an ice cream headache or something.

My other excitement was attempting to tidy my kitchen and making macaroni and cheese. Both were accomplished to some degree or another.

Now we are watching Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. I hadn't seen this but I am rather impressed. The cinematic influences are fantastic and the visuals are incredible.

My brother Tom calls me today. He was at work and all of a sudden there was a huge explosion. As it is New York and history has made them appropriately skittish, people began to run like mad. Tom being well...Tom decided to go and have a look. Oh Tom. A steam pipe burst and caused a transformer to explode. Proper good times for one and all. I think it did give him a bit of a scare, (as it should) but it is just another Summer in New York. A place where the crazy is a past-time. Like mahjong or handball.
