Martha Stewart for beginners

A project that needs attending to in the near future is replacing the iron-railing in our entrance/living area.

The railing is dated looking and I keep picturing Senor Onion getting his head or arm or whatever stuck in the railing. I would rather avoid having a visit from the fire department to get him unstuck.

I think the basic idea would be to rip the thing out and replace it with a solid half-wall railing. There are minor fantasies of putting in some kind of built-in shelves but I would just be happy with something simple.
Now comes the task of finding someone to do this. (Mr. Jenner and I are not that handy. yet) If anyone local knows of someone good that they would recommend, let me know.

The project for the month of August is painting the Master bathroom. It won't be anything major but it will be a step toward updating and doing something to the house. If we are able to do that without too much chaos we will move onto painting the study. Exciting stuff.


I wish my insomnia would go away. It is leaving me a little edgy.
