Martha Stewart... beware.
Dec. 2nd, 2007 10:10 amYesterday after the thrill of getting a goal taken care of. I went and ran a few errands. Avec automobile!
I ordered/placed deposit on the Christmas goose. I also bought ground lamb and some sliced ham. I tell you I love my butchers. Then I picked up a few other items and then it was off to the post office. As I drove up Capitol Hill it began to snow with abandon. It wasn't terribly scary. I first learned to drive on ice/snow and in the dark. (I call it the Helen Keller school of driving)
I mailed off a bajillion Christmas cards and a package.
Then it was home to stay warm and watch the snow. (which has disappeared as the heavy rain killed our snow.)
I went to work on applying the marzipan layer to the Christmas cake.
Then I made Croque Monsieur for dinner.
It was a very cozy evening.
Today I will finish filling out Christmas cards and make Christmas Cake ice cream. (I sliced the top off the cake to make it perfectly level and I toss it into a custard base) So we will have that and pumpkin spice ice cream in the freezer. I should make a sorbet that is appropriate for the season.
And if I have time. More paper Christmas ornaments.
