I took Senor Onion with me to University Village as I had some things to buy and so on. He was full of pep and energy (dancing to the B-52s at QFC) and so I took him to the little play area for short people who don't walk or talk so well. I almost didn't take him into the area. All the Moms had well put together hair and outfits. My hair was kind of a mess and I was wearing my crap clothes because I have been cooking/baking this morning and I didn't have make-up on. (it has been a long night with Senor Onion teething) Half of the Moms had super chic smug Mummy slings/wraps for their kids. And all the Moms seemed blonde. I don't hate on the blondes but when one is the single brunette in the bunch in a group; I have a habit of feeling like a changeling. "Oh look there is the dirty gypsy in the corner." (Have I ever mentioned that I have been asked a million times since I was a little kid if I was of Romany/gypsy blood? I am not making this up. Can't make up anything this good. Sometimes I had fantasies as a child about being a blonde girl named Eileen so that I didn't stick out)
Anyhow, I stuck it out. I decided to stay. Sure I didn't really talk to any of the Moms, because I am dumb and shy and my handbag isn't Coach. Senor Onion enjoyed walking around and he was more interested in the birds and the potential ways to escaped the enclosed area. The stuff to play on wasn't his cup of tea. (he thought the slide was mildly amusing)
That's my boy.
Lover of animals and looking for a way out. (Maybe Saint Francis is his inspiration)

Maybe we will visit again. I should get over my extreme sense of shyness and general squirrely feelings around most people.

As for other fun, we went to QFC. It is the Kosher one. Or at least they have a whole lotta kosher stuff. Plus you see a lot of Orthodox people wandering around the joint. Passover is coming up and the display there is HUGE. All the kosher marshmallows a person could want. I bought some U-Bet syrup. For I had a plan.

I came home and made myself one heck of an egg-cream. Forget you New York. I don't need you so much anymore now that I can make egg creams in the privacy of my own home. I had one with a ruben sandwich I made for lunch. It was a genuine pleasure. A girl has to put the left-over corned beef to good use.
I think I need a nap now.

Today is also a minor but significant national holiday; here at Chez Anglo-America.
It is the birthday of one Mr. Jenner.

Happy Birthday Mr. Jenner. Enjoy the pie!
