grown up talk.

Last night Mr. Jenner and I were talking about this xkcd comic. The conversation forayed into the alt-text of the comic. on the other hand, physicists like to say physics is to math as sex is to masturbation."
Which we both agreed was valid. Not to knock the math folks but in some ways they would be like some people imagining amazing kama sutra level sex acts that potentially involve the removal of some ribs, years of devoted yoga practice and a bottle of Mr. Bubbles. But there wasn't a lot of applied experience.
Whereas the Physicists would be inclined to say, "dude, you won't believe what Feynman did last night with the entire female population of Cal-tech, a container of crisco and his bongos. He has pictures."
Okay so that is an extreme example. But whatever, this is my LJ and I can play with things like, "the truth."
We were later making jokes about people coming up with lines like, "Would you care to look at a Turing machine?" or "Want to see my version of cosmic ray showers?"
A girl offering to talk about Planck's law... for money.
Mr. Jenner came up with the best one, "All this talk about cosines is making me horny."
