let's go somewhere.
Aug. 1st, 2008 07:47 pmI booked lodgings for our holiday in September. It was luck that everything was available just when we wanted it. We decided to stay in state this year and we are driving out to the Washington coast. The basic route will be driving to Pacific Beach, stay there a couple of days, drive up to La Push (which is really the middle of nowhere) and hang out there for a few days. The emphasis is on taking walks and not doing too much and just hanging out because we are good at that. We will do a day trip to Cape Flattery/Neah Bay -because everyone should try and visit the furthest northwest point of the contiguous United States at least once if they can. (blustery seems to be the most commonly used word to describe that part of the world) Then we will head toward Port Angeles and visit Lake Crescent/Hurricane Ridge/Marymere Falls. And once that thrill has been taken in we will drive home. It should take us about a week and I think it will be exciting. I haven't seen all of these things (I have seen some) and Mr. Jenner/Senor Onion have never been any of it. It will be an adventure and we will take pictures and stuff.
Mr. Jenner likes how he will give a vague idea of where he would like to go on holiday and then I will put come up with something complete with hotels/activities/transportation. I told him this is why I am the wife. He does recognize the research/coordinating/contacting that is involved so that he can have a nice holiday. But it suits our nature. I like to plan things and he likes to just throw some money at something and have it done.
Senor Onion didn't take a nap today. He slept in (which he never does) and when he might have been able to take a nap the effin' Blue Angels were flying over and practicing for their shows on Saturday/Sunday. Senor Onion does enjoy watching the jets fly very very low right over the house -but when you are trying to get him to take a nap, it makes one not feel so cheerful about the effin' Blue Angels who are a complete waste of everything. I think of the cost of that jet fuel and it just kills me. All for a show. I like bread and circuses as much as the next person but right now it seems less than lovely.
Plus I am a grumpy Mother who didn't get her kid to take a nap.
I need more wine.
Where is my wine dammit.
