...and then..

I made madeleines today for a neighborhood party. I believe they were well-received. People say nice things but they say nice things about everything. It is what you do. I met some new neighbors who were very nice people. They had a baby with them. I did remark later to Mr. Jenner that the baby was a bit funny-looking. No judging. I did point out that the baby had a lot of personality. Personality goes a long way when you are small. And sometimes a baby has to take time to grow into the face they were given. Senor Onion liked the baby a lot.
All those people made things very very warm. It felt good to get outside when we left. There have been rolling fog banks all day long giving the light a peculiar quality. It looked pretty as the sun was setting and the Christmas lights were becoming brighter. Though it does kill the soul when you realize the sun set before four o'clock.

I have two weeks left to make sure all sorts of minor details are sorted before we leave. Too many lists.
