afternoon letter
Dec. 23rd, 2008 03:35 pmHappy Birthday to my sister,
lightprincess89. The first time I met her she was asleep and wearing a red hat. She knows how to make a good impression.
This morning I went and did more grocery shopping with my Mother in law. It was a mad-house in the grocery store. There was this one little old lady who kept trying to run me down with her cart. First in the produce, later by the biscuits and finally near the yoghurt. I would love to know what it was about me that inspired her erratic cart-driving ways. Later we went into Bude to the bread shop and the cheese shop. Then it was back to Kilkhampton to the butcher. There we picked up the enormous Christmas order which consisted of two turkeys (10 and 20 Lbs) a smoked ham for Christmas Eve, a giant smoked salmon, a lot of sausages and some ground pork. It was terrific looking about at everything. A true talent at work. Then a stop at the village shop. We came back with enough food to feed an army.
Mr. Jenner and I took the boys out to see the ducks, chickens and other farm animals. Then to play on the lawn. A long lunch of pumpkin soup, bread, cheese and meat and now we are watching The Lark Rise to Candleford Christmas special.
There is talk about the games we have to play at Christmas. Lord save us.
