Apparently women are better than men at fighting off colds. All that hot sexy estrogen helps after all and we should be nicer to men because they don't have super powers like the ladies.

All I can think of is this sketch. He's got a man cold!

...

My brother Tom is here visiting. He hasn't eaten us out of house and home... yet. Thankfully he is going to our Mother's tonight where he can inhale her fridge. I will be sending her some of the cake I made. It is the least I can do for the poor woman. Last night we went out for burgers at Madrona Ale House. I was in no mood to cook and it is a good place to take people and let Senor Onion do this thing. (which mostly involves playing with a toy, taking it back to the toy area, looking at other boys with suspicion and grabbing another toy and running back to our table. He was rather thrilled that he could have ketchup AND mustard on his plate to dip his dinner in. It is the little things that excite the short set. My burger was delicious as always. Mr. Jenner tried a new beer that he likes even more than his usual. Then we came home and both Senor Onion and my brother promptly fell asleep. Tom hadn't exactly slept since... Sunday night. He had a shift bartending Monday night which lasted until three am. Then he had to essentially stay awake until six-ish so he could go and catch his flight at JFK. It was a direct flight but still when you are long-legged and on aisle seat -sleep doesn't exactly happen. And of course there is the time zone difference. Still points to him for staying awake until 8:30pm. We heard him stumbling about around 5am. It seems he didn't realize the bathroom door was closed and tried to walk in. *snorts* Not much changes with my brother. Senor Onion looks upon his Uncle as being a great goofball too. I suppose partly because he doesn't see him all that often. But when you encounter this tall gangly goof, you might be inclined to go, "Eh?"

I feel less meh today so there will be errands to run. I will find nice things to send with my brother for my Mom as she is feeling a bit of the cabin fever of essentially being stuck on the Peninsula during the bridge closure. (it isn't terribly feasible with her schedule to brave the long trek via several boats and what not for the next few weeks) So I promised I would send bits of civilization to her.

I am thinking about pie now. Of course we still have plenty of cake. But pie is on the mind. As is sorbet. I am so excited about the neighborhood farmer's market starting on Friday. Okay so it won't be a total party, but I am keen. I can't WAIT for strawberries to come on. I have plans people. PLANS!
