Yesterday it got to 102. That was a first. We briefly went outside to the garden to spray ourselves with the hose and check on the plants. (the tomatoes are having fun and the squash/pumpkins are good too) We lasted about 10/15 minutes because anything longer than that and I think we might have caught on fire.

It is supposed to be slightly cooler today. We have reached the point of insanity. It is forecast to be 87 degrees tomorrow and I am thrilled with a 10 degree drop. Yeah. Pretty sad. Today the Blue Angels are flying overhead. Heat wave + Blue Angels = great.big.suck. And they are doing this for four days. Fine. Whatever. I don't care anymore... waaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh

I was giddy this morning when there was a slight breeze outside. I sat quietly and enjoyed it. Later we went to the library to get books and take in the A/C. Some of the libraries in the city don't have A/C as they are beautiful old Carnegie libraries. Those libraries shut down yesterday when they reached 90 degrees inside. My sister works in a Carnegie library in Port Townsend and they lack a/c. They have one fan near the check out desk and people walk past it. A lot. I remember that when I worked there as a teenager. Working there in the Summer was never fun.

I feel like such a tired whale. Doing the laundry was like climbing Mount Rainier. I told Mr. Jenner last night, "you and the little guy are on your own for dinner." I sat in a cold bath and ate cheerios. Really. Then I had a cardamom ice cream and banana milkshake. Dinner of mother effin' champions yo.

I think I was going to mention something else but my brain has melted and I need to lay down as I feel awful.
