Another week, another prenatal visit.
As my regular provider is out of town this week, I saw the doctor who actually delivered Senor Onion. I think I was a little nervous because there were a few things about that doctor that didn't impress me at the time. Yet here is the interesting thing, in the exam room, she has a terrific bedside manner. Very friendly, and good at making someone feel at ease. Good at the distracting conversation when doing an exam and just generally sympathetic. So who knows. Maybe some people are better at the day to day than they are at chaotic moments. She asked after Senor Onion and so on.

Baby Biscuit has indeed dropped. I casually mentioned, "yeah she isn't moving as much" and so they did an NST. She passed with flying colors and I got to lie around on a comfortable bed doing nothing for half an hour. I didn't mind that too much. Though when I was done, I realized I hadn't had a mid-morning snack and my blood sugar was dropping fast. I came home and scarfed down a ton of food and now feel like a manatee times two.
Today is my due-date but that doesn't really mean much in the grand scheme of things. Pretty much if I went into labor right now, no bother.
The true waiting begins in earnest.

Last night the weather was perfect in my own way. I had the window open in our room as I am gestating so much it leaves me overheated. Mr. Jenner is a nice man who burrows under the covers. (I like to think of this as prep for when I am going through menopause one day...or something.) It was breezy outside and then early this morning it began to rain. I love it when I hear rain falling early in the morning. Eventually we closed the window, but it still felt so perfect and comforting. And I don't have to water the garden.

Now I want some damn frozen custard. And a granita. Or maybe some iced coffee. (not too much ice nor too sweet.)
