I am sure I had more to say.

Today was a proper cooking bender.
Yesterday evening I began to slowly cook down a bunch of apples and today I had apple butter. I got lucky when my kids both took a nap at the same time so I canned the apple butter and did a great deal of laundry. Then I made Shepherd's Pie for dinner. While things were cooking or simmering, I made chocolate chip cookies with Senor Onion. Food for all occasions!

I finally finished reading Coop last night and now I am focusing on books that take place in France and are devoted to food and good living. It will be a good theme for October. I looked over the list of books I have read this year. I have somehow managed to read thirty books. Not bad for an easily distracted individual. A hot bath at night helps a person get some reading done. (that and nursing a baby)

Time to find more books!
