I thought about being social but then I got caught up with stuff at home. I tidied the kitchen, baked chocolate bread, took care of some laundry and somehow managed to get both kids to nap at the same time. Mr. Jenner even joined them in this napping fad.
The weather was pleasant, no one needed me so I tended to the garden. I prepped some beds for planting, weeded the herb and onion/garlic beds and made things look a little better. After people woke up I helped Senor Onion plant some flower seeds and then we found ourselves doing more weeding. Oh what a wild life I lead. The tulips are coming up, a package arrived in the mail and I had a nice chat with my neighbor.

At some point (maybe tomorrow) I need to tidy up the strawberry bed. I need to get rid of some ancient parent plants and maybe take a few of the newer plants and plant them up and give them away to people who want some to grow. I have this bed that started out with four plants a few years ago and now there are dozens upon dozens. It doesn't give me quite enough to make jam (I still buy my berries when I do that) BUT I do have enough that I can make cakes and shortcake in June/early July. There is also the issue of certain people who graze upon the strawberries like it is a buffet. Which a garden should be I suppose, but it is a battle. That and those god damned squirrels. (I think I should learn to make squirrel stew.) I never knew I had a knack for growing strawberries. Neglect and lousy soil have worked in my favor.

The garlic is coming up, the herb bed might need a trimming soon so I can dry things and I will be able to put some other things out doors soon. My Mother inlaw sent me an email to tell me that the delicata squash seeds she smuggled home in December have begun to germinate. She had never had delicata until she came to visit and liked the flavor a lot and took home the seeds from one. Every time she visits I get her hooked on something. The time before I made pasta and she went home and bought a pasta machine and went on a bender. Enabling: this is what I am good at.

Senor Onion has taken this recent interest in holding his sister. It doesn't last very long as she is getting bigger and she is awfully wiggly and likes to do things like try and eat his face or grab his hair. I was able to snap a few pictures of them together. I think I like this one best because they are being so silly.
