Oh what a day for ambition. Maybe not ambition but distraction. We took Miss Biscuit to the pool today. She didn't last all that long but it was an interesting experience for her. She looked so serious in the pool and she kicked about a bit. Senor Onion had a blast as usual. Afterward Mr. Jenner took Senor Onion with him to the electronics store to buy little electronic bits for their various projects. Miss Biscuit napped, I read a book and did some laundry. I also put some bread onto rise. It will be for Sunday. Once the menfolk returned I went out all by my freaking self. I took my time in shops. I bought pretty paper for potential crafty/paper art projects. I bought lamb and things. Then it was time to come home for tea and more weeding in the strawberry bed. Senor Onion attempted to spray me with the hose so Mr. Jenner took him out for a walk. I put the lamb to use.

I am working through a new cookbook called, Falling Cloudberries. I am not sure how I feel about it yet. I like the variety of food culture and it is a very very pretty book but I am still holding back complete judgment yet. I made a greek dish that had lamb, orzo and tomatoes. It also had a stick of cinnamon. It was very simple to put together and I suspect it will taste good tomorrow for lunch. The directions were straight forward and it doesn't require a person to go to the ends of the earth to find four bitter oranges from the Isle of Crete or something silly. I want to try out some of the Finnish recipes in the book. I just need to buy some herring and salmon and I will be off. I might wait and have my family come over when I make those things as my family is Scandinavian and also like eating fish in many forms. Have herring, will travel.

Sunday I will roast a chicken in some fashion. Unless I decide to do something else with the chicken but we shall see. I have to find inspiration and see if I have the right things on hand. I do so like looking in the cupboards everyday and seeing what possibilities lay before me. It's always an adventure.
