relaxing now
Oct. 26th, 2010 09:54 pmWhat do you do when you are overcome with anxiety (despite the help of happy pills)? You bake. Oh I baked and then baked some more. It was a good activity as it was windy/rainy/messy outside. I baked oatmeal cookies so that Mr. Jenner can have something nice after his lunch. I baked pumpkin whoopie pies because I have a whole load of pumpkin puree that I made this weekend. I will hand out whoopie pies to people I encounter. Then I baked a chocolate yogurt gateau (thank you Susan Loomis) so that Mr. Jenner (and people who eat all of their dinner) can have something "cakey" (his words) after dinner. Senor Onion tested the gateau. He declared it tasty. Thank goodness for that.
I took some pumpkin puree and used it in a risotto. It was quite good. Bits of bacon and a beautiful soft orange color. Made for a lovely dinner.
Now I am having a nice cup of cocoa. I make excellent cocoa. I am queen of nursery food comforts at times. I will give you custard, cocoa and naps. You can thank me later.
Mr. Jenner is a kind and dear husband. I have cold feet (my circulation has never been all that fantastic) and he massaged them to try and warm them up a bit. These are the little things I love about him.
