One Pirate! One Sugar Plum Fairy!

Jack-o-lanterns!
It was a pretty lovely Halloween as weather goes. Bright and crisp most of the day. I took Senor Onion to the farmers market. We tasted apples and talked to vendors. We came home with potatoes, leeks, garlic, apples & hard cider. I bought Senor Onion a cookie. We had a nice walk together. Leaves were raked and the garden was mulched.
Senor Onion was reluctant to dress up until he saw all the scarves I own. I have been collecting silk scarves since I was a teenager and I have ended up with a large collection. (mostly vintage) He liked the idea of wearing scarves and we fashioned a sort of pirate costume with the help of Schiapparelli, Calvin Klein and Givenchy. I took the kids out trick-or-treating and they really enjoyed it. I loved watching Senor Onion go from door to door say, "trick-or-treat" and "Have a Happy Halloween!!" Miss Biscuit held her bucket and quietly smiled. She went ga-ga over anyone with a dog or cat at their house. This is definitely a delightful pleasure when you have kids.
Mr. Jenner made toad in the hole for dinner -true comfort food. He always does a great job on that. Now to sit by a fire and warm my toes.
