The snow has more or less melted. Yesterday morning I woke up and it was snowing. Again. This worried me as I had my sister flying in and my Mother and her friend driving over and another friend driving across the city to come to dinner. It isn't so much the snow as the combination of ice/hills make for scary driving. I wasn't too worried about my friend as she is from Minnesota and knows how to drive in snow. My Mother is also a very good driver in snow. She enjoys the drama of it. Thankfully the snow stopped and things began to warm up a bit. By warming up...it got to around 40. Practically sun-bathing weather.

The day was spent cooking, eating, chatting and playing with the world's most child-friendly pug in existence. Miss Biscuit is deeply in love with this dog and whenever she sees pictures of pugs she starts squealing. It was pure heaven for her to spend the day with a dog. She kept kissing and petting the dog and wandering around after it. Senor Onion asked if we could have one. Maybe when they are a bit older we can discuss the idea of a dog. Anyhow.. Here was dinner. After stuffing ourselves properly, people lounged, napped, knitted, chatted about this and that, played with kids and the dog and generally enjoyed each others company. Then we ate some more and regretted it. Then people went home. I finally got the kitchen back to normal this morning. Thanksgiving wears me out. I love it though. I cook tons and tons for people I love dearly. Everyone brings a dish or some help to the table and we embrace all the good stuff about the day. Good food, fantastic people and not having to be anywhere in particular. Just right there in the moment of fun.

Today we do not too much. We eat leftovers and maybe take a walk. I am thinking about baking cookies. My poor stove. It is probably thinking (if it could think and this is an insane line of thought) "christ woman, didn't I work enough yesterday?"
