We are facing the reality of needing more bookshelves. It isn't a bad thing. It just requires a little thought when it comes to what we will get and how we will arrange things. The guest room is being turned into Miss Biscuit's room/occasional guest room. (Her room is bigger than Senor Onion's so this is why her room gets that title) We will have a sofa that folds into a bed (though not a sofa-bed... I think. These are complicated things I understand for the affluent class.) and dolls/bears can live there when people aren't sleeping there. We also have these books. Many books. As do the children. We aren't at Shirley Jackson levels...yet. But I am sure one day we will be. So there will be books for adults in her room as well as books for her. I have always liked having books in the guest room so that should our guests desire reading material or suffer from insomnia/jet-lag they have some means of entertaining themselves. (I tend to keep murder mysteries, history books, biographies/memoirs, humor and travel-related books in there as those seem like relaxing material. Yes I think long and hard about this.) So I stare at the walls and try and imagine how things might look.

Mr. Jenner went off to Arizona today. Obviously not for laughs. It is the annual company meeting -their last I think. Did I mention that Mr. Jenner works for another company now? Well he does. The company he had worked for (codesourcery) was bought up by a larger company that is based in Portland. Mr. Jenner will still work from home and he gets a little pay-raise and the benefits have changed a bit. (for the better we believe) Mr. Jenner had had an itch to maybe find some work elsewhere and instead the change came to him. He still does the same old thing but should he want to move into some other department/area there is more room for that. Kind of a variation of making the mountain move to you instead of moving to the mountain. Or something like that. (It is hard to remember all those business philosophical metaphors that are popular with people who use the word synergy without irony.) All of that change was official in early December. Which brings us back to him being in Arizona for the week. It will be a geek-fest where there are unix beards and sincere conversations about minute details of coding and languages and whatever.
I on the other hand will be holding down the fort with the monkeys. Doing my best not to obsess over noises in the night. (This is what happens when your official noise-checker goes out of town) We went out for cupcakes earlier and now we have a napping baby and a short guy playing with his toy cars. I suspect there will be waffles and bacon for dinner. We play fast and loose when Dad is out of town. Sausages and chips for all. Extra ketchup too.

On that note, I will leave you with this dandy post about finding a title for your poem. (written by a family friend)
