I picked up another Sloane Crosley book at the library. As it is a book of essays, it goes quick. This one is still very funny in places but in many ways more poignant and a little sad. The last piece was added at the last minute and is incredibly strong. A good book-end as it were. It is about a love affair that didn't go so well. There were so many perfect bits of writing; especially in regards to love that goes to pieces. I want to press this essay onto a few people and go, "Remember this." I am thoroughly glad I read this. I think my sister needs to read this book when she has time. (har har. The life of a college student.)
Now back to reading more Bill Bryson and a book on the Italian language. (more of a love letter to the language)

I went on this cooking bender yesterday. I made hummus, bread, cookies and pasta. I rolled out the dough and cut it up to make pasta con sardine for dinner. A dish that requires little effort but gives immense flavor back to the person eating. Even Senor Onion ate it with a bit of coaxing. I took the leftover pasta dough today and Senor Onion helped me to cut out linguine. We cooked that to make pasta carbonara. (one of Mr. Jenner's favorites) It has been a week of serious Italian carbs. Pasta in many forms and risotto. Starch starch starch!!! I need to think about what to make tomorrow. I need to buy vegetables as it is as we are about out. (Now down to an onion, a few carrots and a bit of spinach)
