a little more now
Dec. 21st, 2011 10:22 amThis morning Miss Biscuit was knocking at our door, I came to see what was up as it was still early. she was standing there with her Aurora pony and Senor Onion said, "Can she sleep with me?" I said sure why not since it was a way for them to entertain each other for half an hour and allowing Mr. Jenner and I a little more sleep. The kids got into bed and I could hear them chatter to one another. He was reading a book to her. It was very sweet and I didn't have to break up any fights. Bliss.
After having a bit of tea and thawing the car, I went out early to do some considerable grocery shopping for Christmas. "The most wonderful time....of the year.." It wasn't insanely busy, (just me, some old ladies, fishermen, and people stocking) and I could take my time when getting things. I could go over my list without someone ramming into me. I even found the last of the stocking stuffers. There are still things to get other places but I feel good about where I am at. It could change obviously but right now it is good. I found a nice wine for Christmas dinner, got enough satsumas to turn my daughter a pretty shade of orange, and I was wise enough to remember that we were out of tums and bought a bottle of those so that no one will suffer too much from indigestion.
Today I will cook a ragu, some meatballs, and do more prep for the timpano. It will be great. Tomorrow I will steam a pudding and begin prep for the lefse. (a lot of potatoes are involved) Christmas is really about the eating.
