My Mom came over today and my youngest brother stopped by for awhile too. We weren't doing too much, which is still pleasant with one's family. We mostly have meandering conversations. We might sit outside on the deck for awhile as the kids make mud pies. Then once the kids are brought back in and cleaned up we will continue the conversation.
I made lunch, later there was coffee/tea and chocolate. Essentially fika. We sat at the table while the kids ran around and we shared our opinions on politics, history, books, school, (both my Mom and my brother are in college.) people we know, gossip in town. Our favorite subjects.
We will find a way to do this via skype. Though I suspect the conversations won't be five hours long.
Who knows. Maybe it will.
My brother Tom had some cryptic FB posts about being at a court house in New Jersey and we were wandering, "what has he done now?" My Mom who likes to worry in new and fun ways, was trying to figure out what he was up to. It was when he checked in via his phone to some criminal department that she might have become mildly anxious. I pointed out that if he had been arrested or something, he would not have been able to check in via 4 square. (though I am sure that day will come) Mike called and left a message and it was a sign, "hey his phone wasn't turned off because he was arrested." I said worse-case scenario he got caught jay-walking in New Jersey and is paying a fine or something.
He calls back and it turns out he was working on some true crime show where they do a sort of docu-drama thing where they re-enact stuff. He played a drug-dealer! We are very proud. His episode airs in... June I think. 100 bucks for his time.
Working actor.
More people curious about renting the house. I believe we have to hide bodies and things before we show it someone else tomorrow. I emailed about some house in the UK -OF COURSE those fuck-face estate agents have not returned my email. Is this like the Jewish faith where they refuse you three times to see if you are truly interested? Do I need to promise to bring brownies? LET ME RENT A HOUSE, there will be money and baked goods in it for you?
I must maintain some piece of patience. Among other things.
Patience. small pieces of my sanity.
What else...
Life. You know.
