fabulous times I say
May. 4th, 2012 12:21 pmYesterday at preschool, show & tell turned into a kind of a gong show. Two girls brought their baby dolls. These baby dolls are bald and they are both named Iris. This is noteworthy because the baby dolls are named after the little sister of one of Senor Onion's classmates. Iris (the sister, not the baby dolls) is two and a half, (about two weeks younger than Miss Biscuit) and is still bald as the day she was born. Cute kid. But all bald baby dolls in that class are known as Iris. What a namesake.
THEN a girl got up to share an invisible bag that had an animal in it. We had to guess what it was. It turned out to be a Sperm Whale. Yes. An invisible sperm whale in class. The girl kept referring to it as "My blue sperm." This brought about stifled giggles from the parents because we are mature. Over and over "My Blue sperm" was uttered. I think in the space of twenty minutes the word sperm was said around 15 times. SPERM.
THEN a little boy hummed the Darth Vader theme. The whole thing. Off-key.
Another little boy wanted to sing a song. He sang his song with not one, but TWO hands down his pants. (gotta find courage)
Finally Senor Onion got up and for show and tell he was to bring something that started with a vowel. He brought...HIMSELF. As his name does start with a vowel. His was probably the most... put together show and tell of the bunch.
On a whim I've decided to paint the main bathroom. It is yet one more form of distraction. I like distractions.
My Mother inlaw and sister inlaw are visiting houses for us. One we liked was let. (oh well) BUT they are going to a viewing tomorrow(?) for this period cottage that has been done up like woah. I wonder if it has an Aga. (a girl can hope eh?) The shipping people emailed us to finalize a few more things (which is kind of nice) and we have had more interest in the house. There is a professor from Finland who is interested so I need to take pictures. I do like the idea of someone from Finland staying here. Alas no sauna at the house but I could direct them toward the one at the nearby public pool. (would they want to know that?)
