in that moment
Aug. 12th, 2014 04:08 pmThe world may feel chaotic, and there are people in pain, and sometimes it presses on the soul, but I am having a good day. Yesterday was good too. It isn't as if great massive things happened but they were days filled with good moments. I invited my sister in law, and her kids over for tea. The weather is weird at the moment, and the air pressure changes so much and so quick, and it gives me a headache. But tea was good. Some of the kids were kind of grumpy but that was fine. They played, Miss Biscuit invented a game room where you could buy tickets to play games, they had biscuits, and we gave them gifts from Holland. I chatted with my sister in law about family. It was a good catch-up on everyone's situations. My nephew has braces. They aren't comfortable but it adds to him growing up. It's weird that he is around my height now. He was once this little tiny blonde boy who barely spoke and always carried a toy car with him everywhere. I accomplished a few things yesterday that had been picking at me, and then I watched the second Hobbit movie with Mr. Jenner. Hot dwarves, and ice-cold Elves.
Today I took the kids out to run errands. It wasn't like we really did anything unusual, but it was a nice time. We mailed things at the post office, went to the book shop to find a few things for presents, (and I ended up helping a random customer find some presents for some children.) stopped at Boots, went to another shop to price winter coats, went to the bakery to pick up bread, and then the grocery store. The bakery was good because they know the kids well there, and they always love to chat to them, when the kids aren't playing outside and looking at the pastries. We came up with ideas for dinner for the next few days in the grocery store, talked about Grandma's upcoming visit, and then drove home making silly noises.
More apples off of the trees (need to figure out what to do with the windfall ones) and I may begin to harvest the blackberries. There are more tomatoes as well!
