let's keep going
Oct. 2nd, 2014 04:41 pmMy sister in law got word this morning that her Dad had died. She is off to spend a few days with siblings to mourn. I am taking her girls tomorrow afternoon. PARTY at Auntie Gennie's house. I think I will make nanaimo bars this weekend for my sister in law. I can't take away the grief but I can certainly help to smother it a bit with carby goodness.
I took the kids to the park after school as Miss Biscuit wanted to play with her best friend. We barely get to the park and her friend grazes her knee on some gravel, and then Miss Biscuit was hurt on the seesaw. Didn't quite work out as we had planned. I think it was just the way she landed on the seesaw (she came down hard when a kid jumped on the other end) that caused some bruising on her back. It may have also knocked the wind out of her. I took her home and gave her some pain medicine, and iced her back. She is now watching Mr. Bean and having a biscuit so I think she will be on the mend but I will keep an eye on things. Poor monkey. Seesaws: fucking deadly. But then I think of the deadly playground equipment of my childhood and I loved just about everything. Sure a kid was breaking an arm or ending up in the ER every year but we liked to play around with our lives.
The kids got their proofs back for their school photos. My children are hams. Beautiful hams. But hams.
