My sister in law is home and well and can walk. Tomorrow we get to go over and visit and meet the baby. I am excited. I just like holding/admiring babies and then going home.

Yesterday the kids found out their parts in the Christmas play. Alas no one is going to be a lobster who is present at the birth of Christ. There is always next year. Senor Onion is going to be a beat-boxing gingerbread boy. (one of his close friends will be on as well.) The note that was sent home said he should wear brown clothes. Senor Onion doesn't own any brown clothes. I am not sure how that worked out. I thought about getting him a cheap pair of sweats and a shirt in brown, but I have found it might be cheaper to buy him a gingerbread boy costume. I figure I can donate it to the collection of costumes at school. He is quite excited about his role. Miss Biscuit is to play Mary in the Nativity. She is pleased but relaxed about this role. She thought she was going to be a sheep or angel. But no, sorry, she has to be Mary. Between you, me, and the rest of the internet, I privately did a dance. THAT IS RIGHT Y'ALL, MISS BISCUIT HAS A STARRING ROLE. (I think it is because she can memorize anything quickly, knows how to read, speaks loudly, and has a lot of stage presence.) My sister and I were talking about this part, and how we both had the same experience where the part of Mary was given to the pretty little blonde girl. I didn't mind too much, as the girl who got the part was a really nice person. But she was the nice quiet, well behaved girl in my CCD class. Mary isn't usually handed out to the mouthy brunette girls. But seriously, I don't recall Mary being a pretty blonde Nordic girl.
I told my Mother I wouldn't get all Mama Rose about this. But still, there is great pride in this moment. I gave my Mom, and my Mother in law permission to be braggy Grandma/Nanas about this, because that is their right. My nieces will be a hedgehog, and a mouse and both are speaking parts. The Jenners will dominate this Christmas play with their presence and good looks.

I may spend tomorrow baking/freezing rolls for Thanksgiving, and figuring out what sort of cake to bake for Senor Onion's birthday tea. My sweet baby boy is going to be eight on Friday. He still lets me scoop him up and cuddle him.
