Gearing myself up for a weekend holiday with my husband's extended family. All lovely people for the most part but there are some who are more extroverted than others and oh they embody that very very British stereotype of wanting to play games and have competitions because that is what they do. And it will be fine. Really. I just have to get myself into the right frame of mind, and make sure my chocolate stash is set. My advice is to always travel with snacks. If you have snacks, fewer people will be maimed.
AND Mr. Jenner and I get to go out to dinner like grown-ups and stuff on Saturday night. Not exactly how I envisioned celebrating our tenth wedding anniversary but there you have it.
Last night on the actual day, we had tacos, and prosecco and that was pleasant. Because we were hanging out with the kids, and doing our thing. We also had lemon meringue pie. I enjoyed that bit of quiet.

I am signing Senor Onion up for science club at school. It will be good for him. In that it gets him out of his bedroom. And the parent teaching/leading the club is pretty great. He is also going through a growing spurt at the moment. He sleeps massive hours but is still tired at school, and he inhales all of the food. I fear what puberty will be like because I will go broke feeding him. His teacher (the ever delightful Ms Plum) has been a good sport and she just encourages him and says, "come on kiddo." I pointed out that he is out cold by 9pm, and is up at 6-6:30am on his own. I am not sure I can make him sleep more. I just bought him new trousers and pyjamas and I suspect they may only last a few months.
CHILD slow down with the growing.

Okay. We can do this. Let's face over twenty five people. In two houses. On a sheep farm. With little wi-fi.
