A cousin of mine was assaulted while waiting for the subway the other night. This rando came up and grabbed her crotch. And in a fitting moment of revenge she kicked him as hard as she could in the balls. He dropped to the ground, yelling threats at her, and she jumped onto the train.
She was brave but it was still terrifying and upsetting for her. And what is so sad is that this isn't the first time that she has experienced this.
I wish she didn't have to deal with this. I wish so many women didn't have to experience this.
Kids were back at school today. My greatest accomplishments today were grocery shopping and making an Indonesian curry. And reading economic papers on what it means to leave the EU.
My brain is all over the place right now. Writing things, reading things, and trying to focus amidst the swirl of february.
