I woke up this morning at Nurit's and we had a fairly fun time being dorks. We were doing our best Mary Catherine Gallagher impressions, I listened to her make fun of people on MTV (which isn't really too hard) "YO YO YO wassup, I'm LaLa (the slutty tellitubbie) and I'ma here to tell ya what is goin' on" I took a shower, and we talked about eating, but there was nothing in her house to eat, except eggs, old hot pockets and diet coke. (breakfast here we come!)

Then my new friend Daniel came by, and he and I went to the Fremont Solstice fair. We missed the naked people on the bikes (always a favorite) but we had a fairly entertaining time. We got to eat the Horn of Africa stand. He and I both seem to only have that food at various events like Folklife or Bumbershoot. Then we looked at things. And what a lot of things there were. There seemed to be quite an assortment of tied-died clothing, pottery, jewelry and "hair be gone" animal hair remover products. Some musicians, a number of people petitioning to make marijuana legal. Those people seem to be part of every festival or event I end up at. It is like if you want to organize something, they come along with the permit applications you must fill out.
We were hoping to see the Young Fresh Fellows, but alas it was not meant to be. The system was fried, and so did it seem were a number of people.
We sat by the water after a fruitless search for Churros. Sure there were elephant ears, but not a single churro in sight. *sighs*
The water was nice, a lot of Canada geese acquiring popcorn, young people with multi-colored hair and dreads swimming with questionable water. We watched people in boats, perpetuate a certain stereotype. They were overly tanned, bordering on crispy, some with no shirts sporting a fashionable beer belly, drinking beer from a can, with chicks in bikinis and "sunkissed" hair and skin, driving back and forth, back and forth, causing waves and tossing things into the water with a certain casualness. It was truly a beautiful day. I say that with sincerity. It was warm out, blue skies, I didn't have to work and I had a very nice, long conversation.
I had some terrific noodles for dinner. I reccomend noodleranch in belltown to anyone who appreciates finely made noodles at a rather reasonable price. The dumplings were light, not too hot, and easy to handle.
Definitely a nice end to a rather calm serene sort of day.
I wish I had more afternoons like this.
